The Role

In addition to the responsibilities set out below, the individuals will be prepared to take on additional tasks at the request of client leads or the Incisive Health Brussels management team (the Brussels Operating Committee – the BOC).

Political and policy intelligence

  • Demonstrating leadership in the office by understanding political and policy change, and supporting members of the team to interpret it for clients
  • Providing high quality advice to clients on the implications of policy or political developments for their strategy and programmes of activity, independently of more senior members of the team
  • Leading client teams independently in ensuring that clients receive rapid alerts on policy changes and their implications, with clear recommendations for activity if appropriate

Client service

  • Ensuring that work delivered by you, or by teams for which you are responsible, is delivered to a high degree of accuracy (in terms of substance, spelling and grammar)
  • Leading client accounts, including leading the development of the strategy underpinning client programmes
  • Ensuring accounts where the Associate Director is the team lead are delivered to the expectations and satisfaction of the client
  • Identifying areas for expansion and enhanced delivery of client programmes, including the development of new service offerings for clients

New business

  • Prospecting actively for, and securing, significant new business
  • Developing strategies and materials for new business pitches and proposals
  • Drafting new business materials, leading or participating in pitches, as appropriate
  • Networking in policy/political fields to develop contacts and capture business intelligence

Marketing

  • Building an independent profile in the sector as a thought-leader and expert in health policy
  • Playing an active role in the development of marketing events and/or materials
  • Ensuring the business maintains an active social media presence via e.g., twitter/ blogging

Personnel

  • Nurturing the development of all members of the junior team, actively supporting them to develop as consultants and to progress
  • Line-managing members of the team

 

The Requirements

The successful candidate will have a Master degree in a relevant field and proven experience in public affairs, health policy, consultancy and/or in the European institutions.

They will be able to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of health policy and a sound understanding of EU policy and decision-making processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and at least one more EU language
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Strong project management skills: be able to balance competing demands,manage a portfolio of clients and multiple projects, and meet client expectations
  • Eager, productive and positive attitude
  • A go-getter who wants to learn and contribute to a fast-growing and dynamic agency
  • Right to legally work in Belgium
