About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Advocacy and Engagement, the new Advisor is going to:

  • Contribute to and implement a strategic and structured stakeholders’ engagement approach in line with the ESG Advocacy and Engagement strategy and priorities.
    • Map ESG stakeholders in strategic way so as to be able to identify, prioritize and target the most relevant ones for each topic
    • Implement a structured plan for global stakeholders engagement which will bring added value to amfori
    • Increase stakeholders engagement in Business Development priority regions (outside EU)
    • Proactively engage with global stakeholders who could bring more added value to amfori’s work and its members
    • Nurture constructive relations with key ESG stakeholders when needed
  • Support efficient management of existing partnerships and generate new strategic global partnerships in order to maximize benefits for amfori.
    • Monitor existing ESG partnerships and provide concrete recommendations on how best to capitalize, renew or end these when needed
    • Define and implement actions plans and monitor global partnerships deliverables
    • Proactively engage and build partnerships and alliances to advance amfori’s priorities/strategy in an impactful manner
    • Define and implement roadmaps, manage new global partnerships to a fruitful outcome
  • Manage reputation in order to contribute to building a strong amfori brand.
    • Position amfori on topics of strategic importance for key stakeholders including by preparing and managing workshops
    • Represent amfori externally acting as an amfori ambassador
    • Anticipate and flag issues with challenging stakeholders and be responsible for swift and coordinated responses to prevent things from escalating
    • Support amfori membership team with stakeholders queries
    • Manage the SAC by capitalizing on their diverse expertise to feed into the amfori team work and the Board
    • Provide insights and support on Stakeholders Engagement and Partnerships in order to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Monitor competitors trends and pro-actively feed into amfori strategy, business development and marketing efforts with new insights
  • Provide briefings and support to technical teams for meetings with stakeholders when needed
  • Prepare and manage workshops, roundtable and forum logistics including developing agendas, project plans, minute taking and production of reports
  • Support amfori Customer Service with stakeholders queries

 

About the Expectations

  • A Master-level degree in Law, Political Science, International Relations or European Affairs with any other relevant to degree to be considered
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in EU affairs advocacy and/or communications environment at an EU affairs consultancy, professional or industry association, corporate or NGO
  • A native or near-native level of English proficiency, with any other EU language to be an asset (especially German)
  • Knowledge of CRM software
  • Excellent communication and soft skills in particular in public speaking and negotiations as well as some project management knowledge is required
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively and constructively in a multi-cultural environment
  • Pragmatic and Proactive
  • Strong networking/diplomatic skills – Existing  network within international organisations/global forums would be an asset
  • Good business acumen and some knowledge of supply chains
  • Accountability and organisational skills
  • A knowledge of campaigns work would be a differentiating asset
  • A permit to work in Belgium
