Bolt is looking for a Public Policy Manager to manage its regulatory efforts in Thailand.

You will be in charge of guiding the company on all regulatory, compliance and policy matters on a national and regional level.

Ultimately, you will own Bolt’s relationships with a variety of relevant stakeholders in the region including regulators, political contacts and business connections such as fleet and business partners.

 

Position reports to: Director of Public Policy Africa & International Markets

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading Bolt’s regulatory and political communications in Thailand, travelling frequently as required.
  • Providing guidance on complex regulatory and compliance requirements and processes to commercial teams.
  • Supporting expansion efforts to other markets and verticals as required either independently or with partners.
  • Ensuring Bolt’s operations comply with its licensing conditions (via audits, external assessments etc) and applying for new licences on a recurring basis.
  • Drafting annual strategies to achieve defined objectives as agreed with commercial and product teams.
  • Helping to draft Bolt’s messaging and corporate communications and supporting responses to incoming media enquiries as they arise.
  • Establishing effective relationships with policy-making and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Instructing and managing consultant public affairs agencies

 

Requirements:

  • Ideally At least 5 years of professional experience in a legal, compliance, public policy or regulatory capacity. You will likely have spent time managing complex regulations, influencing and changing legislation or working on detailed administrative procedures in a highly regulated environment.
  • Demonstrable success in managing regulatory and political risks with tangible examples of results achieved.
  • An understanding or interest in learning complex regulatory and licensing procedures related to taxi and private hire for numerous locations.
  • Experience of developing and executing sophisticated public policy, regulatory and corporate communications campaigns.
  • An excellent writer and communicator – you will be adept at translating complex and overlapping requirements and processes into clear guidance for business colleagues.
  • A willingness to travel on a regular basis to meet with local councils and officials.
  • The ability to work closely with experts in other fields including legal, compliance and PR.
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail and prioritisation skills.
  • Confident, articulate, organised, resilient and welcoming of feedback.
  • Good political networks in some operational markets or the ability to develop networks as required.
  • Experience of and the confidence to represent Bolt to Cabinet level policy-makers.
  • Business standard English and Thai.
