The Economic Research Team of Allianz Trade, a team of experienced economists analyses sectors and country risks to deliver global insight for decision-makers, is recruting a Public Affairs Officer.

About the Role and Responsibilities

The Public Affairs Officer will operate within the Allianz Trade Economic Research team.

The mission of the Public Affairs Officer:

• Understand the governmental, political and policy environment for credit insurance, bonding and B2B trade worldwide with a focus on Europe and the US to inform Allianz Trade stakeholders;
• Identifying key political and policy change impacting major client sectors for thought leadership and research purposes;
• Support the research team in building political scenarios;
• Influence at government level for upcoming legislation to ensure that Allianz Trade’s voice is understood and taken into account, especially during crisis period;
• Increase awareness of credit insurance as an enabler of trade growth which should support business development;
• Promote partnerships with other organizations (e.g., trade associations, public banks) in the sector at the national and international level;
• Liaison with Allianz Institutional Directors (GRPA network) to speak with one voice and to coordinate the interventions;
• Represent Allianz Trade in external institutional meetings;
• Coordinate the search, reception, and diffusion of institutional and sectorial publications when appropriate;
• Lead on the preparation of internal briefings and external reports to various stakeholders.

Position reports to: Head of Corporate Research

About the Qualifications:

• Master’s in public affairs and political science with a 6/8 years of proven experience in that field;
• Understanding of trade credit insurance;
• Understanding of sustainable development issues and legal framework;
• Ability to quickly absorb and synthetise complex information;
• Ability to handle complex issues and communicate in a clear and convincing way;
• Autonomy; problem solving; flexibility and initiative in a fast-moving work environment;
• Excellent analytical and writing skills;
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail;
• Strong team spirit and inter-personal skills;
• Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and presentational;
• Excellent command in English; German or French would be a plus.

The position is based in Paris (La Defense).
