About the job

NOVE is looking for an Associate Director/ Director to lead its Healthcare Practice. Since its launch ten years ago, NOVE has supported global and European pharmaceutical and medical device companies, European industry associations, healthcare professionals’ organisations, and patient and carers organisations on numerous issues and disease areas. NOVE’s work in the healthcare sector has always been driven by the willingness to make a difference in bringing innovation to and improving the quality of life of patients.

With the support of a Partner, the Associate Director/Director will play a crucial role
in consolidating and growing NOVE’s Healthcare Practice. As a member of the senior management of NOVE, s/he will also be involved in the management of the agency at a key stage of its growth and development.

 

Role and responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of public affairs and communication strategies for NOVE’s clients in the healthcare sector.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on complex issues related for example to healthcare policies and regulations, disease awareness campaigns, advocacy and thought leadership campaigns, market access.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the EU healthcare ecosystem, including EU officials and MEPs/APAs, industry players and patient organisations, media representatives.
  • Help develop and implement a new business (and marketing) plan for the Healthcare Practice, including by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and building relationships with potential clients.
  • Represent the company in public policy discussions and meetings.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of public affairs professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.
  • Contribute to the overall management and decision-making of the company.
  • Play an active role in attracting new talents and hiring new people.
  • Work closely with colleagues across NOVE’s Practices to ensure a coordinated and integrated approach to client service.

 

Profile and expectations

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in healthcare public affairs, advocacy, or communication, ideally at EU-level. A mix of agency and in-house experience will be considered a strong advantage.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement successful public affairs and communication strategies in the healthcare sector.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ongoing health debates at EU level (e.g., revision of the EU’s pharmaceutical legislation and of the orphan and paediatric drugs legislations; pharmaceutical intellectual property (IP); access; shortages; vaccines; etc.).
  • Strong understanding of the EU institutions decision-making processes and of the EU healthcare policy and regulatory landscape and processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Client-oriented mindset, with an ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Proven team management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong positive, can-do attitude.
  • Perfect command of English; additional languages considered an asset.
