Established in 1959, AGRER s.a.-n.v. is a consulting firm providing studies and technical assistance services primarily at the international level. AGRER develops policies, strategies, plans, capacity building, monitoring and evaluation, institutional support, and offers specialized technical assistance and consulting services at both the strategic public governance level and program/project implementation level. AGRER’s clients are primarily governments or public institutions financed by international banks and funding agencies such as the European Union, the World Bank, and other Development Banks, as well as bilateral agencies

The main domains include food (agriculture, food security, value chains, agribusiness & SME support), environment (climate resilience, climate finance, natural resources management), water (smart & green irrigation, integrated water management, coastal protection), and energy (renewable energy & transition).. AGRER implements projects worldwide, mainly in Africa, Latin America, Asia, and Europe. The turnover is approximately 10 MEUR, with around 20 staff in Brussels and approximately 75 on projects. Job Description:

AGRER is seeking a full-time senior manager to strengthen its HQ staff. Based in Brussels, you are a dedicated professional with a business-driven mindset, possessing in-depth knowledge of consulting services related to public aid and international development. Your background includes managerial and business development experience, and you are seeking a key role in a dynamic team. Your role requires a mix of strategic thinking, operational efficiency, leadership skills.

Main Tasks:

Company Level:

• Assist the CEO in implementing tasks of a strategic development plan (improving internal tools, digitalization & procedures, enhancing AGRER’s contract acquisition and business footprint, reinforcing synergies with the mother company TYPSA).

Business Unit Level:

• Be responsible for a Business Unit within AGRER’s activity domains.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team.
• Be responsible for the Business Unit ‘s contribution to AGRER’s business and its financial success.
• Be in charge of business development, prospects selection, and main negotiations with partners.
• Supervise the preparation of proposals and, when required, prepare key tenders.
• Supervise the project management of the Business Unit and, when required, ensure the management of key projects.

Profile:

• +15 years of general professional experience (of which over 5 years in consulting and public aid development sector).
• Proven managerial and business development experience.
• International experience (preferably Africa, Asia, or Latin America)
• Experience in one or several AGRER domains of activity (food, environment, water, energy)
• Relevant educational background, e.g., Master’s degree in Bioengineering, Civil Engineering, Business Engineering or Administration, Agronomy, Environment, Economics, or equivalent.
• Excellent writing and communication skills in both French and English. Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
