About the Company

The company is a global management-consulting firm that helps their clients identify and set the direction toward their most important goals. The Firm’s primary objective has remained constant: to serve senior leaders as their most trusted external advisor on critical issues facing their organizations. They have made a significant commitment to working across sectors (public, social, and private) to tackle the world’s most pressing issues in development. With exceptional people in 65 countries, they combine global expertise and local insight to help create the change that truly matters.

Their Public, Healthcare, and Social Sector practice provides management consulting services to governments and social sector agencies at all levels in the European region. To support further growth, the practice is seeking a proposal specialist. The role is based in their Amsterdam office and will focus on proposal development for public sector clients operating in the Netherlands.

Who You’ll Work With

You will report directly to the European Proposal Manager and join an enthusiastic and driven global practice team and the network of proposal professionals. You will be involved in strategic discussions as you partner with consulting teams and the sector and practice leaders to expand the Firm’s impact in the region.

What You’ll Do

You will play a key role in proposal management and client development. Your focus will be on driving end-to-end proposal development and management for clients (80%) and creating and maintaining a library of proposal materials (20%). As the role develops, it envisions the opportunity to build relationships with key clients.

Key areas of responsibility

Proposal support

You’ll help partners and teams win proposals by developing high quality proposal responses. On a specific proposal, you’ll coordinate and lead a kickoff meeting to define the value proposition. The work will involve interpreting RFP requirements, establishing a working rhythm, and supporting partners in facilitating the proposal development team. As an expert in public sector procurement, you will coach teams on industry best practices and methods for proposal writing.

You will assemble and review proposal drafts, edit material and ensure final formatting and layout of proposals in preparation for production. Working collaboratively with teams, you will also develop content for non-technical portions of the proposal response such as staffing, risk management, resumes and reference cases.

Infrastructure support

You will build and strengthen proposal infrastructure and institutional capabilities and processes.
