The European Energy Forum is a non-profit organization established under Alsace-Moselle law and Belgian law. It endorses the values of political and technological neutrality. It does not take any position nor issue public statements.

The EEF is dedicated to fostering open and informed dialogue on energy policy among MEPs, industry stakeholders, and public institutions. For over 25 years, the EEF has facilitated high-level discussions on political, economic, and technological aspects of energy, supporting a sustainable transition. About the Role

The Policy and Events Officer will be working in a small team reporting directly to the Director General. Their tasks consist of (not exclusively):

  • Monitoring the EU legislative process in energy, climate and transport-related fields,
  • Planning, organizing and implementing timely events and discussions relating to key dossiers,
  • Overseeing and managing the organization of EEF events and co-ordinating logistical details (invitations; registrations, participants list, sharing presentations, ensure the smooth running of the event, follow-ups),
  • Being responsible for files relating to the gas sector (natural gas, low-carbon and renewable gasses, etc.), CCUS, carbon removals, bioenergy, energy-intensive industries,
  • Summarizing key legislation, drafting invitations, writing neutral summaries of events, building content for social media,
  • Being responsible for the overall communications activities such as writing content for activity reports, preparing printed material, or online publications; managing the website content,
  • Contributing to internal teamwork and day-to-day life in a small office and engaging with members,

About the Requirements

  • A university degree in political science, international relations, or EU studies is preferred, others will be also considered,
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in an EU organization,
  • Familiarity with EU policy in areas of energy related issues in the sector,
  • Good understanding of EU policies and institutions and its legislative process,
  • Excellent English with strong communications skills (C1 level), any other EU language is considered as a strong asset (in particular: French)
  • Good knowledge of Software interfaces to manage members and participants: databases (Access) ;Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Publisher, Google docs, Google sheets, Google forms, Canva, WEBEX,
  • Good analytical, organizational and drafting skills to manage various projects/events with a can-do attitude and a strong motivation,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with a multi-lingual, multicultural client base and with a small but dedicated team of colleagues,
  • Eligible to work and live in the EU, based in Brussels,
  • Any proven knowledge of web content management systems or technical/graphical experience is considered as an asset.
