About the Role & Responsibilities
As a Key Account Manager within the Brussels office focused on EU-level government affairs and reporting directly to the management board, you will contribute to EUTOP’s service delivery in multiple ways:
- Oversight of several key client accounts: delivering excellence in the form of strategic advice and support to EUTOP’s clients in their EU advocacy and government affairs activities
- Government affairs and advocacy work: on behalf of EUTOP’s clients, you will carry out high-level government affairs and advocacy work by engaging with regulators, legislators, officials and other representatives of the European institutions, as well as representatives of other key organisations of interest to the client and their business
- Trusted advice to EUTOP’s clients: you will serve as the go-to interlocutor and chief contact point for the client side. This responsibility will primarily involve close interaction with the client’s head of public affairs and their team, with occasional engagement with C-level contacts as well.You will provide the client with the necessary intelligence, advice and in-put with regards to their EU government affairs efforts
- Team management: on a project/account basis, you will be in charge of managing three to four junior and senior colleagues, overseeing their work, providing guidance and bearing responsibility for the project
- Methodological expertise: you will employ and make use of EUTOP’s internally developed methodological and operational expertise in carrying out successful policy advocacy engagements vis-à-vis decision-makers
About your Experience
- Master-level university degree in Law, European Studies, Political Science or Economics, with any other relevant degree to be considered
- An extended, proven track record in EU public/government affairs work with the ability to engage directly with policy/decision-makers to affect legislative change
- An in-depth understanding of EU affairs, EU decision-making processes as well as an overview of the Brussels policy microcosm and its key players
- Prior experience in overseeing/managing the work of (a) junior colleague(s)
- A thorough knowledge of developing and delivering government affairs strategies
- Prior experience within the European institutions and/or consultancy working closely with corporate clients would both be considered highly differentiating assets
