Position Overview
Our client is seeking a senior professional to lead public affairs efforts in Brazil. This role is pivotal in shaping and implementing governmental relations strategies to support the organization’s rapid expansion in areas such as shared mobility and long-distance transportation. Acting as the primary liaison with government bodies at both national and regional levels, this individual will play a crucial role in advancing the company’s interests in the regulatory space.
The selected candidate will report to the global head of public affairs and will work closely with the local marketplace leadership in Brazil, legal advisors, and communications professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Policy Development: Craft and roll out tailored strategies to engage with policymakers and support regulatory environments that favor sustainable travel and platform-based transport models.
- Relationship Management: Foster long-term, productive connections with public sector entities, including legislative bodies and transportation regulators, to support the company’s business model and policy vision.
- Regulatory Intelligence: Keep a close watch on changes in legislation and government policies that may affect the company’s operations, providing timely updates and analysis to internal stakeholders.
- Public Representation: Act as the voice of the company in external meetings, industry alliances, and relevant events to advocate for smart, inclusive mobility solutions.
- Internal Collaboration: Coordinate with departments including business operations, legal, and corporate communications to ensure public affairs efforts align with business needs.
- Thought Leadership: Prepare policy documents, position statements, and briefing materials to clearly articulate the company’s viewpoint on innovation, sustainability, and mobility.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and address political and regulatory challenges that could impact operations, offering proactive solutions that reduce risk and unlock new opportunities.
- Program Leadership: Spearhead initiatives with public agencies and nonprofit partners that align with environmental and shared mobility goals.
Candidate Profile
- Professional Experience: At least 8 years in public policy, lobbying, or governmental affairs—ideally within the mobility, technology, or infrastructure sectors.
- Communication Skills: Proven ability to convey complex information clearly in both written and spoken formats.
- Strategic Outlook: Comfortable working at a high level to shape and defend long-term policy positions.
- Collaborative Spirit: Excellent interpersonal skills and a cooperative approach to cross-functional teamwork.
- International Acumen: Experience working across multiple legal systems and cultural environments.
- Business Sensitivity: Agile in balancing corporate priorities with evolving regulatory landscapes.
- Proactive Attitude: Highly autonomous, self-motivated, and capable of taking ownership of initiatives.
- High Resilience: Thrives in dynamic environments with tight deadlines and evolving priorities.
- Language Skills: Native-level Portuguese and fluent English are essential; other language skills are advantageous.
