Mavence is recruiting an EU Affairs Director to join a leading global technology company to lead its advocacy work in Brussels, available to start as soon as possible. The EU Affairs Director will lead the company’s policy initiatives and take a responsibility for building core relationships with EU Institutions, the EC, the EP, Perm Reps etc. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, the Director of Public Affairs will work collaboratively with senior leadership of the company to develop and implement PA strategies and advocacy plans to respond to key EU policies and legislative initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop strategies and advocacy plans to respond to key EC’s legislations relevant to the company’s businesses and activities in Europe
  • Develop high-level outreach plans to enhance networking with EU institutions and enable early intelligence gathering
  • Plan and implement high-level meetings that engage the company’s senior executives and CEOs
  • Develop and refine “core” messages and positions on the key policy areas including Digital, Competition and Sustainability

Key qualifications

  • Over 15 years of working experiences in EU public affairs on related topics and/or working experiences in the EU institutions are required
  • Hands-on expertise and knowledge on EU policies and legislative process and a blend of advocacy and public affairs initiatives
  • A strong network within the European institutions through close working experiences and engagement for collaborative initiatives
  • Ability to develop a comprehensive assessment on the EC’s initiatives and impact or risk assessment for the company
