EARS is looking for a Director General for Ceemet, the European employers’ organization that represents the interests of the metal, engineering and technology-based (MET) industries. Set up in 1962, Ceemet is the European employers’ organisation representing the interests of the metal, engineering and technology-based industries with a particular focus on labour market policy and industrial relations issues. The members are national employers’ organisations and federations, representing 200,000 member companies across Europe, the vast majority of which are SMEs, providing employment for 35 million people, covering all products within the metal, engineering and technology-based sectors. Together, these companies make up the largest industrial sector in Europe, both in terms of employment levels and added value, and are therefore vital in driving forward and securing Europe’s future prosperity.

As Director General, you will report to the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the President. Internally, you will be tasked to lead the work of the staff and maintain close contact with CEOs of member organisations. Budget and fiscal management will be part of the duties along with the association’s branding. Externally, you will develop and maintain high-level contacts and representations with key stakeholders. Membership acquisition and coordination with sister trade organisations from relevant sectors will be part of the activities.

In that regard, Ceemet is looking for someone that has demonstrated management experience in running an international team and brings on board high-level strategic thinking in conveying Ceemet’s strategic future to the staff, Board and Members. Track record of experience in successful lobbying / communicating with and within EU institutions and a solid network in the Brussels bubble is required.
