Position Overview 

As the Managing Director of EPPA, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the European PVC window profiles industry. Based in Brussels, you will provide strategic leadership, foster industry partnerships, and advocate for the association’s goals and priorities. The successful candidate will demonstrate profound leadership skills, knowledge in construction and chemical legislation, with a commitment to sustainability.  

 

About EPPA 

The European PVC Window Profiles and Related Building Products Association (EPPA) is a leading trade association representing the interests of manufacturers in the European PVC window profiles and related building products industry. In the context of the European Union’s Green Deal, buildings and, by extension, windows play a crucial role. Up to 25% of a building’s energy consumption is lost through old windows. With 100% recyclability and the lowest CO2 footprint, PVC windows are a cornerstone and part of the solution to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. Therefore, EPPA is committed to promoting sustainable practices, innovation, and collaboration within the industry to ensure its continued growth and success. We are currently seeking a motivated and multilingual Managing Director with relevant university education and practical experience in relevant fields of public affairs and stakeholder management. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Strategic Leadership 

  • Shape and implement a strategic vision and plan for EPPA in consultation with the Board of Directors. 
  • Lead, motivate, and manage the association’s staff to achieve its goals and objectives effectively. 
  • Ensure the organization’s continued growth and financial sustainability. 
  • Lead and guide internal working groups as well as national branches of EPPA in Poland and Germany.

Advocacy and Representation 

  • Serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate for EPPA, representing the interests of its members to policymakers, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, and partner organizations. 

Industry Engagement 

  • Foster collaboration among EPPA members, encouraging innovation, best practices, and sustainability initiatives within the industry. 
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes affecting the PVC window profiles and building products sector. 

Financial Management: 

  • Oversee the association’s budget, financial planning, and fundraising efforts to maintain its financial health and stability. 

Sustainability and Innovation: 

  • Promote and support sustainability initiatives and innovations within the industry, aligning EPPA with environmental and social responsibility goals. 
  • Encourage research and development in sustainable building products, design and supervise the execution of studies and scientific projects for the industry with third-parties. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Relevant university education. 
  • Proven experience in leadership roles within a trade association or related industry. 
  • Basic interest in technical topics and construction products in general. 
  • Knowledge of the (PVC) window industry or another manufacturing industry in Europe is considered an advantage. 
  • Strong advocacy and public relations skills, with the ability to influence policy and regulatory decisions.  
  • Experience on legislative files related to the construction or chemical industry are considered an advantage.  
  • Exceptional strategic planning and execution abilities. 
  • Financial acumen and experience managing budgets. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Professional level of English and German required. Knowledge of French, Polish, Italian or Spanish is considered an advantage.
